In [[psychoanalysis]], '''anticathexis''' is the [[energy ]] derived from the [[Superego]] to run the Ego, according to [[Freud]]. The function of the anticathexis is to restrict and block [[cathexis]] from the [[id|Id]] for overall benefit.
