The term 'treatment' (cure) designates the practice of psychoanalysis as opposed to the theory of psychoanalysis.
Although The term 'treatment' (cure) denotes the term was inherited by practice (rather than the theory) of psychoanalysis from medicine, it has acquired a specific meaning in Lacanian psychoanalytic theory which is quite different from the way it is understood in medicine.
In particular(Although the term was inherited by psychoanalysis from medicine, it has acquired a specific meaning in Lacanian psychoanalytic theory which is quite different from the aim of psycho-analytic treatment way it is not seen by Lacan as 'healing' or 'curing' people understood in thesense of producing a perfectly healthy psychemedicine. )
The clinical structures of neurosis, psychosis and perversion are seen as essentially 'incurable', and the aim of analytic treatment is simply not to lead 'cure' the analysand to articulate his truthpatient.
Lacan argues that the treatment is a process with a definite directionThe clinical structures of neurosis, a structural progression with a beginning, middle psychosis and end (see end of analysisperversion)are seen as essentially 'incurable'.
The beginning, or 'point aim of entry into the analytic situation', treatment is a contract, or'pact', between analyst and analysand which includes to lead the analysand's agreement to abide by the fundamental rulearticulate his truth.
Following the initial consultationAccording to Lacan, psychoanalytic treatment is a process with a definite direction, a series of face-to-face preliminary interviews take placestructural progression with a beginning, middle and end.
These preliminary interviews have several aimsAccording to Lacan, psychoanalytic treatment is a process consisting of a beginning, middle and end.
Firstly, they enable The beginning (or "point of entry into the analytic situation") is a properly psychoanalyticsymptom to be constituted in place of contract (or 'pact') between the vague collection of complaints oftenbrought by analyst and the patientanalysand.
Secondly, they allow time for The analysand agrees to abide by the transference todevelopfundamental rule.
ThirdlyFollowing the initial consultation, they permit the analyst to ascertain whether or not there isreally a demand for psychoanalysis, and also series of face-to hypothesise about the clinicalstructure of the analysand-face preliminary interviews take place.
Firstly, they enable a properly psychoanalytic symptom to be constituted in place of the vague collection of complaints often brought by the patient.
Secondly, they allow time for the transference to develop.

This is a dynamic process which involves a conflict between a force which drives the treatment on (see As he transferencefree associates, the desire of analysand works through the analystsignifier) s that have determined him in his history, and an opposing force which blocks is driven by the very process (seee of resistancespeech itself to articulate something of his desire).
This is a dynamic process which involves a conflict between a force which drives the treatment on (see transference, desire of the analyst) and an opposing force which blocks the process (seee resistance).  The analyst's task is to direct this process (not to direct the patient), and to get the process going again when it gets stuck. ==References==<references/>
