Envy is a [[primitive ]] force in the [[personality ]] that is opposed to, and therefore mounts destructive attacks upon, parts of the [[object ]] felt to be [[good]]. It attacks aspects of the libido—lovelibido—[[love]], constructiveness, integration—simply because of their [[life]]-giving characteristics.
