[[Lacan]] became one One of the most important -- and controversial -- figures in the history of [[psychoanalysis]]. [[Lacan]] has become an important figure in many fields beyond [[psychoanalysis]]. A controversial figure in the history of [[psychoanalysis]], [[Lacan]] is mostly also acknowledged for his impact on a broad range of fields within the [[human]] [[sciences]]. His impact has been felt influence across a broad range of disciplines, from feminist philosophy film and film literary theory to the spheres of literature, politics, political philosophy and cultural studies (literary theory, philosophy, and feminism).
