Freudian Dictionary
Scientific thought is, in its essence, no different from the normal process of thinking, which we all, believers and unbelievers, alike, make use of when we are going about our business in everyday life .... Its aim is to arrive at correspondence with reality, that is to say with what exists outside us and independently of us, and as experience has taught us, is decisive for the fulfilment or frustration of our desires. This correspondence with the real external world we call truth. [1]
