Hello. I am an aspiring scholar interested in Zizek's work, requesting an informal literature review, as well as pointers to archives in which I can study Lacan's work, as well as related thinkers, such as Zizek.
I choose Zizek as a starting point for this discussion because I quite appreciate his work surrounding "letters always reaching their destination", and also, I quite like the "Symptom" piece, or at least, what I read of it :')
Anyway, I am hopeful that you will be able to provide a gentle introduction to Zizek's work, as a means of introducing me to the world of Lacanian psychoanalysis -- I will say that I do not have very great... resonance with Freud's work, so being gentle and careful about what you recommend (i.e. stay away from discussions of sexuality) are ideal for me.
That being said, I did enjoy Foucault's History of Sexuality, vol. 1, so I suppose with these sorts of topics in the sense of literary theory, there is not really a right answer -- I just recommend that you be very gentle with me.
Alright! I look forward to reading your response, as well as perhaps participating in this community more broadly.
