I cannot figure out the correct relationship between these two breads.
* ''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rye_bread Rye bread] '' is bread made with rye ''flour''.
* ''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pumpernickel Pumpernickel bread] '' is bread made with a combination of ''rye flour'' and ''rye meal''.
It should seem obvious that Pumpernickel is a type of Rye bread... but what do I make of additional information, such as the fact that Pumpernickel is very ''dark'' and is also a type of ''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sourdough sour dough]''? Oh wait, stupid me, it says right there:
<blockquote>The finished product [''Pumpernickel'''] tastes very similar to rye bread, but differs in that pumpernickel recipes often call for molasses, helping to give pumpernickel its dark color.<ref><small>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pumpernickel</small></ref></blockquote> <references/>
