Changes

[[Freud]] argues that children of both [[sexual difference|sexes]] set great value on the [[phallus|penis]], and that their discovery that some [[human]] [[being]]s do not possess a [[phallus|penis]] leads to important psychical consequences. However, the term "[[phallus]]" rarely appears in [[Freud]]'s [[Works of Sigmund Freud|work]], and when it does it is used as a synonym of "[[phallus|penis]]". <!-- [[Freud]] did not distinguish between the [[penis]] as an actual [[body|bodily organ]] and the '[[phallus]]' as a [[signifier]] of [[sexual difference]].
